Your Whatcom Co. Primary Ballots should have been delivered to your home.  If it has not, PLEASE contact the Whatcom Co. Auditor.  L106 has done much research and many interviews to come up with a slate that we believe best represents your hours, wages and working conditions.  We will have more interviews and research on other candidates before the General Election.  I invite you to take part in these activities.  Plese lmk if that's you.  In the meanwhile, LMK if you have questions about candidates in the races other than those in which we've endorsed.

    In Solidarity,

    Colin Lowin

  • Hollie Huthman for COB Council Rock/Beer Event on 8/1

Posted in Political Action, Public News on Jul 30, 2019

    Fellow IAFF members,

Here's the info for the event next Thursday. Participating State St. businesses will have fundraising specials starting at 4:00, and then the FREE show with my band (Dryland) and Stereo Donkey (surf rock, featuring Hiro from early Soundgarden) will start at 7:30.

This is a test to make people aware that there's an election, get people voting, and even possibly register some folks (we'll have tables at most businesses)! I think we'll do more unique stuff like this over the next few months.

Firefighters that are free that night are invited.

It is your union's job to represent you on the issues that have a profound effect on your career - health and safety, wages, benefits and working conditions. It is not a duty we take lightly and not one we will not shy away from. Because whether we like it or not, every single decision that affects you, your career and the ability to provide for your family is made by a politician or someone who is appointed by a politician. With that in mind, it is important that you have a union that fights hard on your behalf in the political process.

Many of you may not like us being involved in politics o...

    Pac Report: March 2019

    Brothers and Sisters.

This has been a most politically active 'off-season’.  Your Local is engaging government leaders on your behalf at the Federal, State and Local level in order to improve hours, wages and working conditions for Union Firefighters.  This report will focus on State and Local activities as we will be heading to D.C. later this week.
